Tree Top Flier is on the Stills Alone CD and you can purchase it on Stephen's official website. He is currently working on a new solo album. Great things take time -- who would want to rush God's greatest gift to the guitar?

Hi Stephen, I am a 21 year old who is pissed off at our government's systematic destruction of the world, and would like to ask permission to use the basic melodic structure and the chorus lyrics of that tune "there's somethin happening here". It think it's quite clear what's going on and would like to use the inertia started by your lyrics so long ago in a new song that describes the parallels between your scene back then and the fact that we are about to go to war again. A response will be appreciated.
peace, M. Albeck

stephen stills was the best concert I've ever attended. the year was 1972, the city was knoxville, tn. I was a freshman in college at UT. I was new on the hippie scene and really having fun. We were on the second row passing joints down the row. Stephen Stills was phenomenal playing at least five different guitars. I felt like he was singing to me and I think he was. The man had tremendous sex appeal and I was new on the sex scene too. Believe me, I remember that night. Great concert, great sex, great high. Thank you Stephen, I'll love you forever. Even though Stephen doesn't visit this,or any other site,it is important to know that there are those of us who care so much for his music, that we just enjoy conversing about it via this message board. I am an older fan of Stephen,I'm 45 years old,and can actually say that I had the wonderful chance to experience his music live,(post-Woodstock).I know that the other wonderful singers that Stephen has performed with are probably considered more gifted, but when I listen to Crosby Stills & Nash,it's the songs which feature Steve that I enjoy the most. His singing in Portugese during Suite Judy Blue Eyes still blows me away.Stills 2 is my favorite solo lp,I also favor Illegal Stills. Has anyone listened to Stephen's son? He's awesome.

i really want to go see csn&y at the Pepsi center in denver,co. so i went to go purchase tickets at ticketmaster.com. do you realize that there is almost $20 in service fees for a ticket? ticketmaster charges $12, then there is some $3.75 service fee, then there is a $4 building fee. the cheap seats go for $40 which would make the service charges %50 of the ticket price!!!!???? what the hell is wrong with this picture??? i wanted better seats, $86, but the actual money out of pocket would be $105. i'm having difficulty deciding between the chance of a lifetime to see the concert or refusing to pay someone to sell me a ticket on principle. i am sending this letter to clearchannel, ticketmaster, and will try to get it to crosby, stills, nash, and young. in good conscience i cannot pay you to attend this concert. i think this act is a disgrace to the artist's and a disservice to the music. you will have to do some major convicing if you want me to believe that you need $20 in service fees to sell a ticket.
thanks, dan

I hope you are enjoying the Flying V I acquired for you thru your guitar tech. I am a guitar tech also, working with Chris Isaak and Andy Latimer of Camel among others, and I would be happy to help you acquire other instruments as well as authenticate them. I am glad the Flying V went to someone of your talent. It was part of my ongoing collection of quality and vintage guitars.

Dear Stephen.....
I've admired your guitar abilities since the middle sixties, I play a Martin and you've influenced the way I play tremendously. I'm currently struggling with the timing on "Tree Top Flyer", its a wonderful song. I found out the other day there is an alternative version of "Johnny's Garden" other than the one found on the double album "Manasas". How do I get a copy of that? It has driven me crazy knowing there is a different version of it for months now and I'm not sure where to find it. Thank you for any help, LnconDuncn@AOL.com

I have been a fan since Buffalo Springfield. I am going to see you at Belterra Casino Nov 16. My favorite guitar pieces are too numerous, but Black Queen, in all its versions, is very cool blues style. My favorite lyrics are Word Game, Know You got to Run, and the Bluebird variations. Stephens Stills II is outstanding. Word Game showed me the shallowness of prejudice when I was a naive college boy, enlightened me, and motivated me to take a stand. I spent 20 years in the Air Force, so 'Find the Cost of Freedom' is pretty personal to me. You are my favorite of CSNY, although all are truly awesome. I have started to teach myself guitar. How can I follow your performance schedule? I hope I get to shake your hand at Belterra. Thank you for all the great, inspiring, emotional, honest music. please email me - God, I am a 48 year old adolescent! Other people should be so lucky. dan.neely@uc.edu

I got to see the Stephen Stills band with Steve Fromholz in Portland, Oregon in '71...Manassas at Indiana University in Oct 1974...or was it 73?? and CS&N in 78 at Notre Dame University(go gators!!!!)..so thru the years it's been great. recently I have heard a lot of fred Neil..I found out you used to be friends and I am sorry about his passing. I saw you at the bus in Eugene, but I did not approach you....out of respect.

i hope that you may be interested in a project that dren records has just started working on. we are just starting to put together a tribute album to public domain / traditional songs.
bands will have to pay for their own recording time. bands will get to keep the rights to their master. Bands do have the option of selling cd's. dren records will sell the discs to the bands at a rate of only $5 per disc. bands can then sell the discs at their shows for whatever price they want to. most of the bands on the tribute will be alt-country bands. Bands are NOT required to sell cds, it is an optional opportunity to earn money. Bands will receive a mechanical royalty of $.10 per cd after dren records has recouped its expenses. bands will need to send me a their song on either DAT or CD-R by Wed Sept 26th. we will send out contracts and much more information on the project in a couple of weeks. some of the artist who will be involved with this traditional tribute album: last train home, sixty acres, bill kirchen, frog holler, tom freund formerly of the silos, jumpinjupiter, eliza carthy, mark mckay, the scrimshanders, the hangdogs, astrochicken, lucky 57, june star and aaron nudelman
the songs that are taken so far are: I've Been All Around This World Atomic Power I Know You Rider Shenendoah Blackwater Side When You and I Were Young Maggie
dren records recently put together the michael nesmith tribute album. check out more information about this album at: www.drenrecords.com
we look forward to hearing from you.

Dear David, Stephen & Graham,
I am a veteran of the 1969 Woodstock Music & Arts festival. At the concert I obtained a Woodstock program, which I have cherished for the last 31 years. About 15 years ago I embarked on a mission to have as many artists to autograph the program as possible and have amassed quite a number since then. I obtained David Crosbys autograph about 10 years ago at a Stowe, VT CSN concert. Graham and Stephen were not available at this time. My question is this: Is there any way possible to obtain a couple of backstage passes for myself and my wife for the August 21st show at the Fleet Pavilion show to obtain these signatures? I assure you these signatures are not for profit but to pass down the original Woodstock program as a piece of history to my children. Thank you for your co-operation in this matter; any help would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
David Maxwell Mountain Base Rd. Goffstown, NH 03045 603-497-8404

Hello, Stephen. Would you direct me to a place where I can obtain detailed information as to the influence you got from observing the scene on 'Sunset' that infamous period of time when you penned the lyrics for 'For What It's worth'? Ideally, I would like to find out when exactly it took place, and where on the strip. The song has tremendous significance in American History, and could fit a hundred places or situations, but it obviously was borne from a very moving experience of yours. Please share, Tim. And, of course, Thank you.

Stephen,
Although to the best of my knowledge, Neil wrote "Ohio", you have always been the main man in my eyes. I just selected a song as my favorite Stills song from the list above; however, it does not include some of my favorites as an option-i.e. "Word Game" from Stills II; What to Do from Manassas, etc. As a matter of fact, Manassas is one of my "Island" tapes that I would have if only allowed 5 albums.
The main reason for this correspondence deals w/ my quasi-attempts to Carry On w/ the spirit of "Ohio". As a Buckeye who graduated from high school 3 weeks after Kent State, this grievous error by James Rhodes is the only thing for which I remember him. What a -------(select your own option).
Anyway, I thought you guys might like to spend a minute reading my 31st annual Ode to May 4th that attempts to spread the message to our younger counterparts who do not understand what the big deal was all about. You will notice some of my attempts to include references to some of your other songs in the Ode. Hope you actually get a chance to read and enjoy.
Carry On!!!
2001 Ode to May 4th Patience has been rewarded because earlier this year the instigator James Rhodes finally died
As Chrisse Hynde sang in My City was Gone, Rhodes was the architect of a government that had no pride
As you remember Alison and the other three unarmed students were shot dead on Rhodes orders
Makes you wonder sometimes how this government ordered murder could happen inside American borders
This callous act has driven our entire generation for the last thirty-one years to remember what happened at Kent
Caused by the paranoic leadership of Nixon, McNamara & Rhodes that alienated us baby boomers leading us to vent
About the needless slaughter of 51,000 in Nam necessitated to support the buildup of the military industrial complex
Thats OK now because ol Bob McNamara finally admitted it went too long so he feels accountable in retrospect
So as CSNYs Ohio rang out w/ Tin Soldiers and Nixon coming four times this morning lest some of you forget
It makes me proud that even after this amount of time political mistrust is something that Kent State did beget
So do what you must to make sure our leaders follow the straight and narrow
And thus will hopefully prevent us from hearing the drumming, instead we will hear the sparrow
Upon graduating from high school, three weeks after Kent State, it seemed a great idea to go to school in state
With fear in our hearts, and no understanding of why this did occur or wondering if we were to face the same fate
You see why this massacre is held so dear to make sure we pass along this experience so future generations need not worry
In case your kids happen to see the National Guard on campus, tell them to run in their biggest hurry
Away from the action which caused uninvolved students not even knowing what was going on
To be permanently taken from this earth never again to walk on the grass of the Kent State lawn
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young penned the song that is the anthem for our generation and a reminder to us all
That anything can happen, but there never should have been a reason for those students to be shot and fall
We need to find the cost of freedom and bring it to everyman to insure this does never happen again
Or else your kids and such may have to run from the fusillade of bullets on students they will rain
The rest of the world has these type of events that happen on an unfortunately regular basis
And normally in comparison the United States is exempt from these nightmares and is perceived as an oasis
Its true this was an anomaly that hardly ever is seen in America and should remain as a rarity
Because unarmed students versus National Guardsmen with rifles is not what I call parity
A partial closure has been achieved now that Nixon and Rhodes are both dead and gone
But the spirit shall live as evidenced by the next song on 4 Way Street, which is called Carry On

Dear Stephen, I have been along time fan. Having just finished the david Zimmer biography of CSN, I am wondering if we will ever hear all these unreleased tracks you have in the can.
I would also like to know what were the two new songs you played on the Stephen Stills 2 tour with the memphis Horns...they were great. I think one was called ``How Long'...the other I really loved but cannot remember the name. I had taped the show on a cheapo recorder.
If there are no plans to release the old material, I hope there will be some new material from you soon

I hope you realize how you looked singing our National Anthem, at Fontanna,CA. before the Nascar race today. I'm sure alot of people wanted to thump you on the head and tell you to remove you cap. Next time use your brain in your head, not only for a cap rest. Have a little respect for our Country and US Flag.

I was wondering if you could help me locate Mike Finnigan's "Mike Finnigan" on compact disc. I know from being a loyal fan of yours, CS&N and CSN&Y, you have recorded with him and are probably pretty good friends as well. I have spent the last year looking for it and know it was in print and is no longer in print.
Thank you for your time, keep Rockin' and God Bless you!!!!!

Stephen, you are way cool! When you were in OKC at the civic center in the 80's you were gracious enough to kiss the hell out of my wife. She has been quit the woman since that night since it was my idea for her to ask you for a kiss. I am sure you do not remember this close encounter , but it meant alot to her, she has not washed her face since that memorible evening. She is the little short Hispanic big breasted babe that is at most of your OKC concerts. We caught your CSNY2K tour in Kansas City, Dallas, and St. Louis, WOW what a tour. We love you man Dan and Barbara.

Stephen, I just want to thank you for making such great music that I have listened to my whole entire life. You have really inspired me to form my own band, write songs and sing harmonies like you. You are one of a kind. Thanks for sharing your muscial talents. Everytime I play one of your records it puts a smile on my face. "Sit down I think I love you" is by far one of the best songs ever written. You are one heck of a genuis. All a girl like me can do is thank you a million times over and over again. Hey, my birthday is Jan. 3rd. too. I think it's time we stop, Hey, what's that sound, Everybody look what's going down" All the best to you, Christina

Hello Stephen, I am organising a tribute album for the guitar legend Davey Graham. John Renbourn & Bert Jansch and numerous other artists are involved. A large UK record group are interested. I believe that you are a big fan of Davey's playing. Would you be interested in contributing a track? Hope you don't mind my asking - it would be great to have a track from you on the album.

The 1st was with Manassas at UNC Chapel Hill early 70's . I saw you play solo at the Coach House about 6yrs ago. A great night for me. When is a new Stills solo CD coming out? Hi, Mr. Stephen Stills. My name is John Daniel Keola Morris and I am also a guitarist like. I play jazz music, but I also like open tunings. Because of that, I like to play Hawaiian slack-key music. There are the three standard tunings for slack-key: first, the "Taro-patch" tuning which is really an open G tuning. secondly, there is the popular C open tuning which is much higher in pitch and, thirdly, the ever popular D open tuning which the famous Gabby Pahinui use to play quite often.
Your use of the open tunings is what made it so enjoyable to listen to you. I found it very interesting that you used an open tuning for Suite: Judy Blue Eyes with a double D note as part of the open tuning. That was very unique. In Hawaiian music very few people use a double note of the same pitch close together.
I'm eagerly waiting for you to come out with another hit. "Southern Star" was great, but I don't hear it on the radio anymore, hardly anyway. Program directors at radio stations play a lot of politics anyway, so that's why I'm waiting for your next hit.
There is so much to say but I know you have very little time to spend in front of a monitor, so I'll just say goodbye for now.
Your fan always,
John Daniel Keola Morris

Stephen: To be simple: As all the other posters here I am a fan but also a working musician/ private instructor and I know the joy of being able to make a living ( and a good living as well) doing something something I love, as I'm sure you do too! Your infulence on me in my formative years as a musician is not to be understated in terms of musical style(s) and in choice of instruments. I play Martin guitars simply because you did and do still! Thank you for all you did for me (unknowingly of course) Rick (E-mail LIV7777@aol.com) PS last i heard you were waiting on Martin for the rest of your Special Edition guitars (5 in all if memory serves) Have you received them??

Stephen, I'm traveling to Hawii June 12th. of this year after I'm finished with EMS training. In fact, I just watched your son on TLC Trauma after his snowboard accident. Very lucky boy. The grace of God was sure with him! I'm also a 43 yr. old male musician (and a big fan). I was downsized out of a job in Dec,2000 and I'm playing solo in some clubs here in Indpls.In. to supplement my income. I really just wanted to know if you had a club on the islands! I heard that you did, and would love to visit it. Maybe get a pic or two if your not too busy or up to it. Lynnie Steffen e-mail: btlfan1957@aol.com Take care.

I was born in 77 so I was unable to go to the show. I am a 23 year old musician, and so it is very important for me to keep a piece of history from my country. Thank you so much for all the great tunes that inspire me throughout the years. any info would be greatly appreciated. best wishes, david coffey, rincon, p.r.

Hi Stephen, I recently bought a custom Martin 000-42S (with slotted head and 12-fret neck). It's a new one, but looks like the ones that were popular in the 1930's. I was just wondering which of your songs have been recorded using the guitar displayed on the cover of your first solo LP (with the multi-colored beast and the snow).
Any change of a solo/unplugged album in the near future?

Hi Stephen, I've seen you and the band in some incredible concerts. Salt Lake in the mid-80's, Irvine amphitheater, San Diego during the Republican national convention, the opening of 5th & B, and the truely awesome CSNY concert in Anaheim last year. But one of my favorites was your solo at Humphreys in SD. I'll never forget Chris Hillman joining you onstage. On the bay, perfect location for a great concert. Now I'm in the bay area, and hoping for a Pavilion (in Concord concert) soon. After many So.Cal concerts, I'm ready for a bay area run. Thank you for all the music for all these years. Please don't ever grow tired of making and performing your special songs. mary

I was one of the lucky ones to see you and C,N&Y at the Ice Palace in Tampa,Fl. in March of 2000. We had third row seats right in front and it truely was one of the best concerts I've ever been to, well worth the $210 I spent for the ticket. I must tell you I almost had a heart attack when I heard the price. I hope Graham is feeling better from his horrible boating accident. He definately looked tired at the end. I hope you guys continue to make music for us ,for the rest of your lives. I remember in 1970 , driving around in my cousin Sandee's car with your tape in the 8-track cassette player. Almost cut my hair, was my favorite. Just wanted to let you know how much i love your music. Donna Dinwoodie

Hi- A friend of mine here in Gainesville, Florida has an unusual record I hope you can tell me about. He has an old, unlabeled 33 1/3 LP with early C,S,N & Y songs, in a white unprinted album sleeve with a taped-on photo label. The zeroxed-looking label says "Wooden Nickel" and "Canyon Records", and has a photo of the entire band from about 30 years ago. The record sounds great. I'd love to know the story on this one. So they came away disillusioned, figuring there really is no way to go back to 23. Even Judy Sims said, "they've changed now, and not for the better". I said, "but I was there in the 8th row. I was one of the few of us who saw and heard it all. I saw every moment of those two years. She turned to me and said, "they'll never do it. They can't do it. They don't know how to trust anyone outside the insidious circle. You want to be a truthful taskmaster that pushes them?..forget it". But the words remain on my lips.."yes, I'll produce you..if you'll really let me produce you".

I introduced your song "For What it's Worth" to my 14 year old son who is writing a poetry in music assignment. He really enjoyed this song and is quickly becoming interested in the era during which this song, and others like it, were written. He was surprised when I told him that I marched in organized protests against the Vietnam War. He thinks of me as a conservative dentist! Anyway, he'd like to know if in this song you were advocating free speech and social change but were also warning of the violence and anarchy that could create more fear and deeper divisions in society. He wants to know what you meant by "that sound." I hope you can help him. He's a good kid, and I am really trying to help him develop a social awareness that would help him care about and react to what is happening in the world. Thanks very much. Friday, November 10, 2000 hello from dren records,
dren records is a small, independent american record label. we are starting to put together a michael nesmith tribute album. current bands interested and/or committed to the project so far are: Sixty Acres, Last Train Home, Fear Of Commitment, Scott McKnight, Frog Holler, The Pet Store Snakes, Laughing Academy, Hindu Cowboys, The Inter-County Connectors and Lee Rude.
we would love to have Stephen Stills contribute a song. most of the bands involved have an alternative country sound. a few of the bands involved have cd's available that have sold in the 3,000 to 5,000 range, many bands involved have cd's available that have sold in the 500 to 3,000 range, and a few of the bands involved have cd's available that have sold less than 500.
if you or your band is interested in contributing a song to this compilation, here are the guidelines: -you can choose any song either written by michael nesmith or recorded by him, make sure the song you have chosen has not already been picked by another artist (see "already chosen list" below) -once you have chosen a song, email us ASAP and we will put that song on the "already chosen list" -please try to keep the song less than 5 minutes, for reasons of time and royalties -deadline to submit the song on a pre-mastered DAT is Monday, January 15, 2001, also include a band bio and information on where the track was recorded and who played what on it
there will be much more information about the project in two weeks or so. in the next few weeks, several websites will be posting calling cards, inviting bands to partake in this project.
the already chosen list: 1) Nine Times Blue 2) Propinquity 3) Hollywood 4) Mary, Mary 5) Different Drum 6) Mama Nantucket
currently, dren records is busy with the upcoming debut CD by Fear of Commitment, Paper Dolls and Paper Plates. (release date is november 13, 2000.) we are in the midst of a heavy promotional campaign. our goal is to top the sales of our most recent release, Sixty Acres' good ethel, which was the #1 selling CD for the month of april 2000 and #4 for the month of may 2000 at miles of music. good ethel went on to be #35 in the no depression top 40 for march-april 2000. hopefully, Fear of Commitment's debut will earn similar success.
There are still many listeners in the alt-country and power pop communities that are unaware of the contributions michael nesmith has made as a solo artist, monkee, producer, and songwriter. hopefully, this project will help nes gain some more exposure.
thank you for your time, niall hood drenrecords@yahoo.com dren records po box 43 sandy spring, md 20860

I have been looking for the 1973 release Buffalo Springfield Atco SD2-806 for a long time and would gratefullyappreciate any info to obtain this recording. Bluebird is the zenith of 1960's acoustic/electric music, and a kick-ass tune besides.

About a year ago, in a small bar in Pittsburgh, Pa, my brother Jim met David, and was able to have him sign his arm, which he then got tattooed above the intertwined-lettered CSN logo that was already there. Then this year, when your tour came back to Pittsburgh, he managed to work his way into the line of tour buses to get Grahams signature right above Davids. He then got that one tattooed. ALL HE NEEDS IS YOU, and his life will be complete!!! Others can say it but it will never mean as much as it does when applied to him: HE IS YOUR BIGGEST FAN. His house is covered in CSN memorabilia, and at any point in the day, your beautiful music can be heard pouring from his home. He wants nothing more than your signature, as a rememberance of his 3 favorite human beings. PLEASE, Stephen, PLEASE email me, Nicole, at munchkin334@hotmail.com THANK YOU SO MUCH

Hello Stephen, Graham, David & Neil, My name is Terry and my e-mail is mtmbcd@erols.com. I live outside of Washington, D.C. and I am a great CSNY fan, I flew to Chicago to see you all after being blown away by your show on April 6th here in D.C. I also saw you in 1974 when you toured here. My now husband and I were sitting several sections away from each other at that show and didn't know it then. We often talk about how cool it is that we shared that incredible experience so many years before we knew the other existed.
I have been longing for quite some time to try to make personal contact with any of you. I would say especially David or Stephen or Graham or Neil because I love you all individually as well as together. I've read all your books and been on all the websites, have all the albums and videos, and have seen you in various combos live, but never the real thing. Not just your music, but individually as regular people, especially as family men ( I am married with four children) and especially now that you've reached the ages you are and STILL HAVE IT. I'm 41 and that gives me hope to keep going every day. Your music inspires me to the point that I listen to some of my collection almost every day. Today, LOOKING FORWARD sounded new and reduced me to tears again.
Anyway, I know I'm rambling on... I now have been blessed with oppurtunity to be in the same space as CSNY again. This time at Neil Young and group's FARM AID in Manassas, Virginia. I waited for hours and got 6th row tickets. I am absolutely crazed and obsessed with the idea of trying to get to meet you back stage or whereever. I know that I am just a one in a million fan, but is there any hope for a regular fan like me or am I just pipe dreaming?
Is there anything that you could (or would ?) do for me? I know you don't know me at all, but truly in your hearts you know me as a sister to the core. PLEASE HELP me if you can. At least, please drop me a line of response.
Peace & Love, Terry

Stephen: You won`t remember this but I remember seeing you with the Springfield in 1966 in Whittier, Ca. I`ve been your biggest fan since then and always will. Saw you again at a club in Modesto, Ca. about 4 years ago and got an autograph on your CD Stills Alone. All I need now is your signature on my first CSN album along with Nash and Crosby`s , which I already have, and life will be complete. Hope to see you teamed up again SOON with Mike Finigan. i just have to say that while i can't seem to believe that stephen stills himself will not reply to this email (i'm just not that lucky), i love the idea that he might. he is most definitely one of my greatest guitar heroes. i know that i hear he likes to play mainly electric these day but i fell into amazement of his acoustic works first. i think he is one of the best ever... period. i was wondering if he was ever planning on going on a solo tour of any sort. i live in cincinnati, ohio and i don't see my chances of seeing such an event here but i would do just about anything i could afford to see him command the stage with just his acoustic(s), his voice, and his vast catalog of songs literally at his fingertips. i'm 25 and to my knowledge he hasn't done any shows like that in any city i've heard (i guess i could be wrong). being that this is a website based from environmental standpoints, i think a solo acoustic tour would be a great representation of absolute natural playing. one of my dreams is to see a black queen live and up close with him picking like a man possessed!!!!!!!!!!! well...that's it. my email address is: imax1974@yahoo.com i guess we'll see what happens with this email...oh, did i mention that i'd love to jam with him too.....i just figured this might be my only chance so what the hell...i got nothing to lose, right? thanks for the time. -micah max; cincy, oh

Hello Stephen, Saw your recent concert in Chicago, in April. To you're right up at the 2nd level. Surrounded by Chicago's finest, at least 7 of them. Don't know what I did to deserve the extra attention, but these guys are on a mission. I told 'em you'd dedicate "For What It's Worth" to them but I think they were waiting for "Chicago" but went away disappointed. I've been a fan for a long time. Hi Stephen,
I had actually left a message for you on the CSN site, but will try this one also. My 4-year-old daughter has a question for you and she asked if we could ask you on the internet. We listen to Thoroughfare Gap quite often and she asked me what the song was about. I told her I thought it was about remembering to stop and smell the flowers every day. Anyway, she then asked me if Thoroughfare Gap is an actual place - when you are singing about the bridge and the river it became in the summer. Thanks for a beautiful song that always puts me in the right frame of mind.

Hi, My name is Glenn Davidsson from Helsingborg, Sweden. I am playing in a band that started all ready in 1963. Then from 1966 we made a break - or 30 year vacation - and are now playing agan. We play covers mostly from the 60's. One of the songs we want to put on our repertoar is Love the one you're with. The problem is that I am not able to pick up the three different voices that You, David and Graham are singing in the chorus and the do, do.... I have tried from the record and also searched the Web to find anything, but no luck. Could You pls give me a hint where I can find or/and buy the song with complete voices. Thanks in advance! I've been listening to your music for 30 years, and I can't tell you how, after seeing you both nights at the Garden and at the Jersey show, I feel somehow like I've rediscovered who you are as an artist. Hey Man! I actually got on the web searching for info on your son's career. Is he touring? working on a new record? "1000 Years" is very Stills-esque, yet very origianl and fresh, which is great if you're a fan of yours, like I am. Now I'm a Chris fan. I finally got "Illegal Stills" on CD and have been grooving to "Closer to You." Anyway, God Bless and keep working--your music matters.

Hey Man! I actually got on the web searching for info on your son's career. Is he touring? working on a new record? "1000 Years" is very Stills-esque, yet very origianl and fresh, which is great if you're a fan of yours, like I am. Now I'm a Chris fan. I finally got "Illegal Stills" on CD and have been grooving to "Closer to You." Anyway, God Bless and keep working--your music matters.

ps-- I was in Quepos, Costa Rica a couple years back and saw a promo photo of yours in a bar one late night. When did you first go down there and what was it like then? my e-mail is jamcilwa@telemundo.com

Hi Stephen. Was listening to Buffett's rendition of Southern Cross and got to thinking and decided to try and jog your memory. Back in the mid '80's you flew out to the USS Eisenhower for a USO tour when it was in the Mediterrean. I was on the crew that took you out there. Know you would never remember my name or what I looked like. We shared cokes and smokes on the cargo ramp of the plane while we were returning to Crete. Believe I had the cokes and you had the smokes. I was wanting to show you my favorite watering holes in town but when we landed at Suda Bay there was a damn C-130 there to pick you guys up. Did you every get a ride in an F-14? Remember you were promised one. Congrats on CSNY's success! Email is: onebrightparrothead@msn.com Thanks! Jim Bright, loadmaster on that C-2.

Stephen, I watched you and the guys play in Toronto on March 31st and you blew me away. I am guilty of ignorance because I had no idea you are such a good guitar player. I couldn't believe the beautiful music you are capable of making. And YOU wrote so many great songs. I can assure that you have made a new fan! Good luck with the rest of the tour,
Judi

Dear Stephen, I don't know how to thank you enough for making music like you do. Your music has touched my heart in so many ways. You have been a huge inspiration on my life. I learned how to play the guitar because of you. I think you are the most talented musician I have ever heard. On March 16, 2000, I saw CSNY in Charolette. I have to say, it was the best concert I have ever been to. I want you to know that you are loved by millions, including me.
Thank you for being such a big inspiration. Kristen Smith darkstar88@mailcity.com

Hi, i'm sorry, I just forgot to give you my e-mail address and asked you to reply. So this is Adrien alias Adroy, which is just sort of a nickname, and my address is: adroy@freemail.hu I would like to know more about this rain forest thing if possible because I'M INTERESTED. i DUNNO, i JUST READ IT ON THIS SITE. I'm sort of interested in enviromental problems and things like that. Did you ever think about it that people like me, who are no native speakers, listen to the way you pronaunce things and not only to what you say? This would be real interesting to know and I've got one mor4 question to the musican: Is there an existing expression for playing a song by ear? I mean you sit in front of the tape player or whatever and play it. Because in Hungarian there is an expression for this and I'd love to know how you say this isn English. Well, tthanks for your help, if you help at all, have a nice time, Adroy

I have already left a message for the whole group but hoping that you read this site more often, I'll tell you about this: So I live in Hungary and I am ninteen, these are the most important features you must know about me. And I am writing a book, actually a novel about the sixties. Actually, it is not about the sixties but about two guys and it is set in the sixties. What I'd like to ask you, if you have a little time, so this is complicated. So the book is not going to be a historical one but I would like to give back the feelings I get just from listening to the music and such things, and I would't mind if you could tell me good stories, or anything you want to share with me about your experiences, what people were like, what expressions did they use about certain things, or I'd be grateful if you had any advices to give me which bands, albums, songs to listen to, etc. If you don't understand yet wha
